A part of Fedorovycha Street (between Ruska Street and Staroyevreiska Street) has already been opened for pedestrians. On the remaining section, work is still underway to relocate the construction site fence, clean the carriageway of the street from the remains of construction materials and other additional work.
“The first part of Fedorovycha Street has already been opened. Unscheduled works are underway on the second part. It will also be opened in a little while,” said Andriy Moskalenko, First Deputy Mayor of Lviv.
As a reminder, the permit for the construction site on Fedorovycha Street has long since expired. No works are being carried out there, but it was impossible to pass and drive along the street because of the fence.
Therefore, at the request of the Halychyna District Administration, work began last week to dismantle the fence on the roadway and clear the street of construction materials placed on the roadway.
“The containers for household waste that are there will be placed nearby. However, this is a temporary solution. We are currently working with the Administrator of Household Waste Management Services to develop a general concept for the installation of underground containers in the city centre. So when the concept is developed, we will put these waste containers underground,” said Halyna Hladiak, head of the Halychyna District Administration.
For the record, Fedorovycha Street was closed in 2010 due to the construction of a hotel. In 2010, investors planned to build a hotel on the site of the destroyed building at 28 Fedorova Street for the Euro 2012 football championship. However, the construction stopped at the stage of building the foundation after several organisations filed lawsuits.
