Nine communities in Lviv region have begun practical work on an information audit following the first online seminar held as part of the Open Government Partnership initiative and Open Government Week in Lviv region. This was reported by Lvivshchyna Tsyfrova.
The information audit involves systematically organising community data: what has already been collected, how these data are used, and how to make governance more open and effective for residents.
During the online meeting, participants discussed the stages of implementing an information audit, identified key data for openness and accountability, and explored how to present information so that it is clear and useful for citizens.
Practical experience was shared by Nataliia Kostenko, Chief Specialist of the Department of Digital Transformation, Information Policy and Transparency of the Sheptytska City Council. She explained how an information audit is already being used in her community to organise data and improve the effectiveness of governance.
The initiative has brought together the Solonkivska, Novoiarychivska, Zhydachivska, Biskovytska, Pustomytivska, Krasnenska, Medenytska, Bibrska and Velykomostivska territorial communities. Participants emphasise that joint work on data should support community development and make local governance more transparent and easier for people to understand.
