Charity Festival in Memory of Iryna “Cheka” Tsybukh to Be Held in Lviv on June 1

On Sunday, June 1, the Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life in Lviv (commonly known as “Shevchenkivskyi Hai”) will host a charity festival in honor of Iryna Tsybukh – a renowned civic activist, combat medic, and Hero of Ukraine, known by her call sign “Cheka”.

The event aims not only to commemorate Iryna’s legacy but also to honor all those who have fallen in the Russo-Ukrainian war. The organizers seek to foster a strong culture of remembrance, advocate for public memory policies, and support the development of civil society.

Iryna often emphasized that her identity was grounded in her “pillars of values.” These principles serve as the foundation for the festival’s concept.

The event program is divided into two main segments:

  • Educational Segment – lectures, talks, and discussions centered around the values that guided Iryna’s life.

  • Musical Segment – performances by well-known Ukrainian bands and communal singing around a campfire.

The festival will run from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Tickets can be purchased online. Free admission is granted to: military personnel with combatant status, children under 14, pensioners, and persons with disabilities (Groups 1 and 2).

The event is organized by Iryna Tsybukh’s family, her close friend and well-known bandura player Maryna Krut, and the NGO “Vshanuĭ,” which promotes the Minute of Silence initiative co-founded by Iryna herself.
