The Lviv City Council reports that several days ago, three more vehicles were removed from the city’s streets. Since the start of the programme, a total of 72 abandoned cars have been cleared. Such vehicles obstruct residents and disrupt the city’s aesthetics.
The vehicles evacuated include an old white saloon car on Zamarynska Street, which had been parked there for about five years, a ‘Moskvich’ on Dovbush Street, which remained stationary for approximately four years, and an ‘Audi’ in a courtyard at Rynok Square.
Before transporting the cars to the impound lot on Konyushynna Street, 13, owners were asked to remove their vehicles themselves, but they failed to do so.
The decision to relocate vehicles is made by the Public Space Commission of the Lviv community, which includes the police, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs service centre, city officials, and city councillors.
After the launch of the programme, some owners voluntarily removed their cars from the streets or restored them to proper condition.
