In Lviv, Sewer Collector Undergoing Repairs on Sokola-Batka

In the city of Lviv, one of the oldest sewer collectors on Sokola-Batka Street, built during the Austrian era, is being repaired. Employees of Lvivvodokanal are replacing this historic structure with a new collector of 400 mm diameter, installed at a depth of about 6.5 metres. This will enhance the reliability of the network and prevent accidents, as reported by the Lviv City Council.

During a network inspection, significant wear of the structures was detected, prompting the decision for replacement. The first 50 metres of the collector were replaced using the renovation method, where a new pipe is installed inside the old one. Other sections are being constructed using the open method, with an overall plan to reconstruct between 140 and 150 metres of the network.

“Replacing this collector will prevent potential emergency situations in the future,” as noted by Lvivvodokanal.

In the 1980s, part of this collector had already been reconstructed, but the section on Sokola-Batka remained unrestored, which led to the current work.
