In Lviv, a further four abandoned cars have been taken from the city streets to an impound yard, after standing unused for several years and breaching public realm regulations. This was reported by the Department of Safety and Street Infrastructure of the Lviv City Council.
According to the department, the cars had been left next to residential buildings and were inconveniencing local residents. The vehicles had remained stationary for approximately four to five years at the following addresses: vul. Zelena, 32; vul. Rylskoho, 3; vul. Tershakivtsiv, 1; vul. Shevchenka, 134.
Before relocation, in line with procedure, notices were placed on the vehicles calling on the owners to remove the cars themselves or bring them into proper condition. As the owners failed to do so, by decision of the commission for identifying and relocating neglected vehicles, the cars were transported to the impound yard at vul. Koniushynna, 13.
The commission that makes such decisions includes representatives of the police, staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs service centre, and officials and councillors of the City Council.
In total, as of today, by decision of the public space commission of the Lviv community, 98 abandoned vehicles have already been transferred to the impound yard. At the same time, after the launch of the programme, some owners independently removed their cars from the streets or brought them into proper condition.
