A competition for the position of hospital director was held at the Sheptytska City Council.
On January 26, another stage of the competition for selecting candidates for the position of director of the municipal non-profit enterprise ‘Central City Hospital of Sheptytska City Council’ took place. This time, the competition commission listened to the vision for the further development of the institution from the sole candidate, Igor Grondzal.
Before the meeting, the commission chair and head of the health department, Myroslav Pushchyk, stated that following the instructions of the mayor, Andriy Zalivskyi, he informs that the community leader will not sign a contract with Igor Grondzal in the event of his victory. The reason for this decision is violations made in the document submission stage.
During his presentation, Igor Grondzal outlined key priorities for the current year. These include ensuring autonomous water supply, installing an elevator in the Mental Health Center, completing the shelter renovation in the surgical building, and obtaining a ‘stroke’ package from the National Health Service of Ukraine.
Regarding the strategic plan for 2027-2030, the candidate focused on creating a new intensive care unit on the first floor. Meanwhile, on the seventh floor, it is proposed to reconstruct the premises into an operating department according to new requirements. Among the primary needs of the hospital is the installation of a linear accelerator for the oncology department and a CT simulator.
Igor Grondzal considers the most important step the creation of a territorial medical association based on the Sheptytska, Sokal, and Radekhiv hospitals. According to the candidate, this will optimize patient routes and combine efforts for the development of new medical services and receiving additional funding from the NHSU.
Members of the competition commission were interested in methods of attracting and motivating staff, attracting funds from the local budget, solving organizational problems in departments, as well as the candidate’s academic degrees and level of foreign language proficiency.
After evaluating the presentation, the commission recommended Igor Grondzal’s candidacy as the winner of the competition. Seven commission members voted for this decision. Commission chair Myroslav Pushchyk voted against, while the Acting Director of the Department of Health of the LODA, Viktoriya Moysey, and member of the public organization ‘Bird of Ukraine’, Halyna Bordun, abstained.
