Lviv region: communities and volunteers raise millions of hryvnias and equipment for the Armed Forces

Across communities in the Lviv region, an intensive week-long drive has seen fundraising, procurement of equipment and charity events in support of Ukrainian defenders. Residents of the oblast are sending drones, vehicles, communications equipment, medical devices, kit and food to the front line.

In the Hlyniany community of Lviv district, the local budget was used to purchase two DJI Matrice 4E quadcopters for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with a total value of 312,000 UAH. At the 79th session of the city council, the Horodok community handed over to the front a DJI Mavic 3E quadcopter, five DJI Matrice 4T quadcopters, 27 charging stations, 14 Starlink units, 43 Starlink Mini units and 16 Chuyka electronic warfare support devices, worth almost 3.443 million UAH. In addition, almost 1.188 million UAH in subventions was allocated for four units.

At the People’s House in the village of Velyke Kolodno in the Zhovtanets community, a charity screening of the film ‘Yes Day’ raised 8,000 UAH for the military. Entrepreneurs from the Zymna Voda community bought a generator and handed it over to Roman Kachmaryk, a serviceman of the 125th Separate Brigade. As part of the ‘Lion’s Revenge’ initiative, the Lviv community provided almost three dozen quadcopters of various configurations and around 50 FPV drones to five military units, with a total value of 7.93 million UAH. In the village of Yampil in the Murovane community, a charity concert and football match raised 39,600 UAH in support of defenders.

In Zolochiv district, the village of Hologory in the Zolochiv community hosted an outreach youth camp ‘Rise in Your Village’, which raised over 41,000 UAH for the military. Volunteers from the Zolochiv community sent soups and camouflage to the defenders. From the Busk community, a battery, car parts, medicines, tourniquets, hygiene products, household chemicals, treats, coffee and gas canisters were dispatched to the front. Volunteers from the Pomoriany community sent a 15×10 m camouflage net to the Kupiansk sector.

In Sheptytskyi district, funds collected by residents made it possible to purchase a mini-Starlink for the fighters of the 3rd RBAC of the 33rd Mechanised Brigade; the collection was organised by ‘EHO 80100’. During ‘SheFest’ in Sheptytskyi, 23,645 UAH was raised for the ‘Khartia’ brigade thanks to an initiative of the Kosmodrom Youth Hub and the HomeSpace Youth Centre. The ‘Radehiv Housewives’ charity foundation handed over camouflage nets, jerrycans, food and clothing to the military, and women volunteers continue to sew essential items by hand.

In Sambir district, the Sambir community raised 16,500 UAH at charity events and purchased four evacuation stretchers for medics of the 59th Separate Assault Brigade. During the Village Day celebrations in Zavadivka, the Turka community collected 490,294 UAH, 100 US dollars, 810 zlotys and 1,500 Czech crowns for five brigades in which local residents serve. At the ‘Boiko-Fest’ festival in the Borynia community, 92,170 UAH was raised for the needs of the Armed Forces. In the Biskovychi community, charity events raised 21,740 UAH in Biskovychi, 5,000 UAH in Berestiany and 14,190 UAH in Nadyby, with part of the funds to be used to buy a vehicle for the military.

The Rudky community approved a programme to improve the material and technical support of eight military units and allocated 1 million UAH from the city budget to support the Armed Forces. Thanks to residents’ contributions and charity events, a further 150,611 UAH was raised and a vehicle purchased for one of the units.

In Drohobych district, children of servicemen from the Novokropyvnytskyi and Pidbuzh educational institutions visited Lviv to watch the Karpaty vs Bukovyna football match. A charity car show, ‘Donutrun’, was held in the community to raise funds for the needs of the 77th Separate Air Assault Dnipro Brigade of the Air Assault Forces. Volunteers from Drohobych delivered an autonomous diesel heater for the unmanned systems operators of the 704th Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence Brigade and raised 19,556 UAH in a week.

Mykola Boiko, a resident of Verkhnye Hai, donated honey from his own apiary to the military. Medics at one of the stabilisation points received essential medicines and supplies from the ‘Drohobych Volunteer House’. Halyna Sachenko, a Ukrainian from Majorca, sent medicines for the Armed Forces, which Drohobych volunteers distributed among three medical locations.

In Stryi district, the mother of fallen serviceman Valentyn Stelmakh from Morshyn organised a collection in memory of her son, raising 28,600 UAH for additional equipment for positions of the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade. The Hnizdychiv Youth Centre hosted charity evenings of contemporary music, raising 41,700 UAH, which was used to buy seven camouflage nets, tyres for an off-road vehicle and a Starlink unit for the 14th Operational Brigade.

The mother of fallen defender Nataliia Palenychka from Stryi, together with benefactors, raised 230,000 UAH for a laser rangefinder. The parents of fallen soldier Olha and Vitalii Maletski from Morshyn launched a fundraiser for fibre-optic drones for the military; after being discharged from the Armed Forces, Vitalii Maletskyi joined volunteers who have set up their production.

Volunteer Nataliia Lukovska from Stryi raised 166,621 UAH for the artillery reconnaissance unit of the 63rd Brigade: the funds were used to repair two vehicles, purchase a ground robotic system, help repair a vehicle for a fighter with the callsign Dok, and buy three Starlink units. Young artist Marichka, aged 13, painted an image of Jesus Christ and donated it to the ‘Do Good’ TEAM Charity Foundation for a charity raffle to raise funds for a vehicle for a fellow countryman’s brigade.

In Novyi Rozdil, the charity ‘KUZMA-FEST’ raised 44,700 UAH for power banks for the motorised infantry battalion of the 116th Separate Mechanised Brigade. Lidiia Pecheniak from Morshyn, mother of a serviceman of the 80th Air Assault Brigade, constantly organises collections and prepares treats for the fighters. Parishioners of the Church of Saints Volodymyr and Olha in Khodoriv once again handed over camouflage nets to the military.

The ‘Krutymo Stryi’ cycling community held a patriotic charity bike ride and raised 7,250 UAH in support of the Armed Forces. Volunteers from the ‘Pryiorytet 4_5_0’ charity organisation sent parcels to defenders in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts. A young couple — Anton, a serviceman of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, and his fiancée Nastia — asked guests at their wedding to donate to the military instead of bringing flowers.

The ‘Maxim’ art gallery from Slavske transferred 20,000 UAH towards a vehicle for military unit A7031. Thanks to Vasyl Dabizha, coordinator of the Novyi Rozdil headquarters of the ARATTA special unit of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, and volunteer Petro Biliak from Novyi Rozdil, another consignment of aid was sent to defenders. In Zhydachiv, the ‘Bees’ from the ‘Zapereizd’ microdistrict once again prepared healing ointments for the military.

Mykhailo Zolotukha and his singing team continue to raise funds during their performances: this time they donated 15,000 UAH for the purchase of a vehicle for defenders in the Pokrovsk sector and another 28,880 UAH for the needs of the military. Benefactor Oksana Sydoriv knitted and handed over socks for the fighters. Another parcel from Mykola Ponych in Dashava was sent to a defender in the Donetsk sector, and residents of the village of Smozh in the Zhydachiv community donated 5,000 UAH towards a vehicle for a fellow countryman’s brigade.

In Yavoriv district, veteran footballers from Mostyska donated 10,000 UAH to the Mostyska Volunteer Centre for the needs of the Armed Forces. Volunteer Petro Shot from Yavoriv district raised 86,000 UAH at ‘Slavske Fest’ through a charity auction of lots from the front, and around 200,000 UAH in total over the three days of the festival for Ukrainian servicemen. He also handed over a Fiat Scudo vehicle to defender Roman from the 38th Separate Marine Brigade; the vehicle was prepared and repaired for work at the front. Thanks to joint efforts and support from Petro Shot, another vehicle is on its way to fighters of the 214th Separate Assault Battalion ‘OPFOR’.

At Novoyavorivsk Secondary School I–III levels No. 2, work on weaving camouflage nets continues: a roll of spunbond was purchased for 2,000 UAH, and thanks to the Hirnyk football club, 13,210 UAH was raised to buy six frames for nets. An order for 24 camouflage nets for the radio communications regiment has already been fulfilled. Women and children of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in the Ivano-Frankove community, as well as the parish of the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Novoyavorivsk, are constantly weaving camouflage nets for the military.

Women from Sudova Vyshnia have already woven and handed over their 63rd camouflage net. Residents of Novoyavorivsk sent humanitarian aid to military medics in one of the hottest sectors of the front, and women from Staryi Yar once again delivered homemade baked goods to the fighters.

Residents of the Lviv region continue to provide systematic support to Ukrainian defenders, raising funds, producing essential equipment and sending machinery and humanitarian aid to the front line.
