Lviv will say goodbye to defender Oleh Alfavitskyi today

 

On Thursday, 4 July, Lviv will say goodbye to soldier Oleh Alfavitsky, who died at the hands of Russian occupiers while defending Ukraine.

Lviv City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square.

The soldier will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.

The defender’s biographical note

Oleh Alfavitskyi (12.04.1998-30.06.2024) was born in Bryukhovychi.

He studied at the secondary school № 41 in Lviv. Lviv. He graduated from the Higher Vocational School No. 48 (now the State Vocational School of Computer Technology and Construction).

After graduating, he worked for two years in the penitentiary service and later moved to Poland. He was fond of computers. According to his family, he was an extremely kind and generous person.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he returned from abroad and volunteered to defend his homeland. He performed combat missions to repel the Russian invaders as a member of the 68th separate Oleksa Dovbush Ranger Brigade of the operational command “West” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He defended the state on the territory of Kharkiv and Donetsk regions.

Oleh Alfavitskyi is survived by his grandmother, parents and brother.
