Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to defender Andriy Tchaikovsky

Tomorrow, December 5, Lviv will say goodbye to soldier Andriy Tchaikovsky, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service of Andrei Tchaikovsky will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul in Lviv (11 Teatralna St.), at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The Hero will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical certificate of the defender

Andriy Tchaikovsky (12.02.1973-28.11.2023). A native of Lviv.

He studied at Lyceum No. 51 named after Ivan Franko of the Lviv City Council. He was educated at the former Secondary Vocational School No. 32.

After completing his studies, he completed military service in the city of Zolochiv. During 2014-2015, he performed combat missions in the area of the anti-terrorist operation as part of the 80th separate Halych Assault Brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

After returning to civilian life, he worked as a loader at Mizol Limited Liability Company.

From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he volunteered to defend the Motherland in the ranks of the territorial defense. Defended the sovereignty of the state as part of the 103rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Poltava Oblast, Sumy Oblast, Kharkiv Oblast, Donetsk Oblast and Zaporizhia Oblast.

Andriy Tchaikovsky is survived by his mother, wife, 15-year-old son and sister.
