Specialists of the Ministry of Veterans’ Affairs of Ukraine continue to modernise and update the online system for determining the state of mental health of veterans.
The MARTA system was created to help female and male veterans and their relatives remotely, anonymously and without stigma to test their psychological needs and get acquainted with the recommendation materials.
One of the updates to the MARTA diagnostic system was the addition of recommendations, particularly in the category of depression. They help to raise awareness of those who decide to take a self-diagnosis or simply read information materials and get accessible and understandable practical recommendations that do not require the involvement of specialists.
The guidelines include specific tips and strategies that can help people deal with the mental health conditions they are experiencing. It is also a tool for finding effective strategies to adapt to civilian life, improve communication with families and others, and increase their own capacity for action.
Psychological assistance and practical recommendations are a key element of the system of support for defenders in the process of transition from military service to civilian life, which helps them successfully adapt and recover from combat experience, the Ministry of Veterans emphasises.
