A Danish-Ukrainian Business Conference dedicated to the development of the agricultural sector took place in the Lviv region. Nearly 40% of the region’s population resides in villages, and there are over 1300 agricultural enterprises operating here, including about 1000 farms.
The region ranks second in Ukraine for pig livestock numbers, and fifth for poultry. There is active development in horticulture, berry growing, processing, craft production, logistics, and bioenergy. However, technological advancement in this field requires investment and the adoption of the best global practices.
The conference was attended by representatives from 13 Danish companies, as well as the Danish Ambassador to Ukraine, Thomas Lund-Sorensen, government officials, and representatives of agricultural associations. The regional head emphasised the importance of integrating Danish expertise in bioenergy, livestock, and modern agrotechnologies to create new enterprises and jobs. “We are working on it,” he stated.
