It is a real pleasure to do what you love. For border guard Khrystyna Lutsan, dog training has become her favorite occupation.
The girl serves at the Dog Training Center and has been training the smallest four-legged assistants for 4 years. In her hands, the four-legged kids become a real “storm” for all smugglers.
“Since childhood, I have dreamed of being a dog handler, because my father was a dog handler and was an example for me, so I chose the Border Guard Service to continue his work. Dog training has become my passion,” says the dog handler.
Now Khrystyna is training a 4-month-old shepherd dog named Kaiser. She says that he is very smart and agile, and he also has well-developed search skills, so in the future he will help to find and detain border violators.
“The biggest achievement for me is to see the result of my work when my pets turn from small puppies into strong and reliable border guards,” Khrystyna says.
In order to train real, courageous four-legged guards, the classes start at the age of two months. They are trained in the form of games, taught to overcome obstacles and follow first commands, and rewarded with treats and praise for their successful work.
“How can you not love them,” says the dog handler, looking at her four-legged pup, “I have the most responsible job, because puppies are like children, so they need much more attention and care.
It is said that dog training is not a woman’s job, but Khrystyna destroys all stereotypes. Yes, being a dog handler is a hard and extremely responsible job, but the girl easily copes with it, because it brings them real pleasure. And looking at the tailed pets’ loyal gaze, we can say with certainty that the kids are in the safe hands of an experienced dog handler.
