Lithuanian volunteer brings 50 vehicles for the Armed Forces to Lviv

Fifty vehicles for the frontline: the military will receive another reinforcement from a Lithuanian volunteer

Lithuanian volunteer Valdas Bartkavicius organised the fundraising and transport of the vehicles to Ukraine.

A new batch of aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine has arrived in the Lviv region. 50 vehicles were delivered by a Lithuanian volunteer, a great friend of Ukraine. Thanks to his efforts and generous contributions from Lithuanian citizens, these vehicles have already been sent to the frontline to perform important tasks.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Valdas Bartkavicius has brought hundreds of vehicles and tens of tonnes of humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

“We are sincerely grateful to our Lithuanian friend who once again helps Ukrainian defenders and not only. This person not only volunteers and helps our Armed Forces, he is a true fan of Ukrainian culture, language and music, and actively supports the right of children temporarily residing in Lithuania to study in Ukrainian.

Valdas, you are a sincere friend of our country, thank you for this help, for taking care of Ukrainian refugees and for all the support you provide to our country.

I am grateful to all people abroad who realise that this is not just a Russian-Ukrainian war, but a test to see whether Europe and the United States are ready to defend the democratic and human-centred values they have been declaring since World War II. I am grateful to everyone who has made us feel that we are not and will not be left alone in this fight.

Many thanks to everyone who joined the initiative, who brought these vehicles and will take them to the frontline. Such efforts are a true example of solidarity that brings us closer to victory,” said the head of the regional military administration.

The vehicles will be delivered to various brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including the 3rd Assault Brigade, 22nd, 24th, 25th, 68th, and units of the National Guard of Ukraine. The volunteer aims to give 1-2 vehicles to different brigades so that the military understand that volunteers are not tired of the war, as they often say.

“I want you to know that we are not tired and continue to act. I am convinced that every help is an important step towards our victory. We will stand together to the end, because there is simply no other option,” said the Lithuanian volunteer.

The volunteer also said that he had learnt Ukrainian to get closer to Ukraine and demonstrates by his own example that it is possible. He works tirelessly, collects donations and does not give up even for the sake of his family, as he is convinced that only Ukraine’s victory will ensure peace for all.

“This war of Russia against Ukraine has been going on for 11 years, but if you look globally, it has been going on for 5 centuries.

I want to show everyone that support is not weakening, that people have not lost faith in Ukraine. And we are ready to help. Polish volunteers are joining our initiative, and today we have two Lithuanian natives who have lived in the US for a long time but have returned to help.

People from different fields come together to raise funds, so you can see journalists, builders, musicians, and photographers here. All of these people donate not for the sake of any raffles or auctions, but simply, sincerely, to support the soldiers.

The collection is hard work, and I work non-stop. I have four children, but I leave them at home and I’m coming because I know that if we don’t win, no one will be safe. This is our common struggle for life, and we will stand to the end,” said Valdas Bartkavicius.
