
A deadly fire broke out during the night of October 10 in Lviv, claiming the lives of two residents in a residential building.
At around 1:00 AM, emergency services were alerted to a fire on Petliury Street in a five-story apartment block. The blaze erupted in a fifth-floor apartment, and thick, toxic smoke rapidly filled the stairwell, making it impossible for many residents to escape on their own. Firefighters had to operate in protective gear to shield their eyes and respiratory systems.

While inspecting the burning apartment, firefighters found the bodies of two victims: the 75-year-old owner of the apartment (born in 1948) and her 44-year-old son (born in 1979).
