Part of the funds raised were also used for prosthetics and rehabilitation of the military.
Today, on 8 November, another batch of drones for the Ukrainian military, assembled as part of the Victory Birds charity project, was handed over. This time, our defenders received 236 new drones. This brings the project to a symbolic milestone – 14,083 drones have already been delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard.
“As part of this transfer, the units of the 77th separate airborne brigade of the Airborne Forces, the 24th separate mechanised brigade named after King Danylo, the International Legion, the 80th separate air assault brigade, and the units of the National Guard of Ukraine will receive drones. Lvivoblenergo additionally donated 50 drones to the 63rd separate mechanised brigade,” said Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Air Force.
To the point: Azov separate brigade receives 80 combat drones as part of “Birds of Victory” initiative
The military commanders who received the new drones shared their experience of using the equipment on the battlefield. Drones are primarily used to protect personnel by providing reconnaissance and threat detection, and only then do they perform the task of destroying enemy targets and equipment.
The Birds of Victory project has become a platform for uniting concerned Ukrainians, businesses and volunteers. Fundraising for the drones for this programme took place during various charity events.
Part of the money was also used for prosthetics and rehabilitation of the military.
“Not with drones alone! Almost 3 months ago, we made a decision: To allocate 20% of the proceeds from our auctions for prosthetics and rehabilitation of the Defenders at the Superhumans Centre. So far, we have allocated 10 million for this mission, one of which was raised by volunteer hieromonk Makariy Dutka. Thanks to this, five soldiers have been treated, and the rest are currently undergoing rehabilitation at the Superhumans Centre.
The project brings together people of good will, and it is not only about drones, but also about supporting those who defended our country and lost their health,” said Ihor Dulin, founder of the NGO Dobro.Diy and co-organiser of the project.
To recap, a modern rehabilitation unit for veterans was opened in Morshyn
To date, the Victory Birds project has delivered 14,083 drones to the Ukrainian military. Just last week, the organisers personally visited the frontline to hand over the drones and collect the current needs of the units.
The project continues to raise funds, organise charity events and engage new partners to provide the army with the necessary equipment that saves lives and brings Ukraine’s victory closer every day.
