Sambir resident sentenced to 9 years in prison for purchasing and storing a particularly large batch of drugs for sale
Following a public prosecution by the Yavoriv District Prosecutor’s Office, a 36-year-old man was found guilty of illegal acquisition and storage of drugs with intent to sell in particularly large amounts (Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The court sentenced him to 9 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Prosecutors proved in court that the defendant had illegally purchased drugs for the purpose of selling them. We are talking about Subitex tablets containing the narcotic substance buprenorphine;
However, after receiving a batch of illegal drugs, the offender was detained by law enforcement near a petrol station in Mostyska. More than 1000 pills of the drug were found and seized from the man.
Until the verdict enters into force, the accused is in custody.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Yavoriv District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Region.
The court’s verdict comes into force after the expiry of the appeal period.
