Lviv Resident Defrauds Soldier of 85,000 UAH Over Car

In Lviv, a 42-year-old man will be tried for fraudulently obtaining funds from a serviceman. According to the investigation, at the end of 2024, a Lviv resident, who allegedly dealt in car sales, offered the soldier to purchase a “Nissan” SUV for over 3,000 euros.

During a phone conversation, the “seller” convinced the soldier to make a prepayment of 66,000 UAH. Subsequently, the victim transferred the funds to a bank card. Later, the accused continued to deceive him, inventing reasons for delays and the need for additional expenses.

The soldier made four more transfers totalling over 21,000 UAH. After receiving the funds, the fraudster ceased communication. The total losses amounted to nearly 85,000 UAH.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by Lviv District Police Department No. 1 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Oblast. According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
