The detainee, a 42-year-old local resident, faces up to eight years in prison for the crime.
On March 5, around 8:00 p.m., the police received a report that a resident of one of the villages of the Yavoriv region had been stabbed.
An investigative-operational group and other employees of the Yavoriv district police department worked at the scene of the incident. The police identified the victim, a 41-year-old local resident. He was hospitalized.
It was also established that the victim visited a neighbor that evening. While drinking alcoholic beverages, he had a conflict with the host, during which the 42-year-old attacker stabbed him in the chest.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 121 (Intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of five to eight years.
The perpetrator was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for him.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
