The man is in intensive care, doctors are fighting for his life.
The traffic accident happened on July 11, around midnight, in the village of Vovchatichi, Stryi district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, there was a collision between a Hyundai Santa Fe car driven by a 54-year-old resident of Khmelnytskyi region and a bicycle driven by a 52-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, the cyclist received serious injuries and was hospitalized in the intensive care unit.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
