In Lviv region, a firefighter of the so-called “lPR Ministry of Emergency Situations” was sentenced for collaboration

14 років позбавлення волі з конфіскацією всього майна

Following a public prosecution by prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a former firefighter-rescuer was found guilty of collaboration (Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The convict was sentenced to 14 years in prison with confiscation of all property. He was also deprived of the right to hold positions in law enforcement agencies for 12 years.

Prosecutors proved in court that after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the law enforcement officer voluntarily began to cooperate with the enemy.

In April 2022, the defendant betrayed his oath as a law enforcement officer and voluntarily took an oath of allegiance to the pseudo-republic. He took up a position in the so-called ‘Ministry of Emergency Situations and Disaster Management of the Luhansk People’s Republic’. The latter was created by representatives of the aggressor state on the territory of the temporarily occupied village of Stanytsia, Luhansk region.

The verdict was passed in a special court proceeding.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the SBI Territorial Department in Lviv based on the materials of the SBU Office in Lviv region.
