Prosecutors of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office proved in court the guilt of a 23-year-old local resident in illegal felling of trees (Part 1 of Article 246 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The court passed a sentence imposing a fine of UAH 17,000.
In addition, according to the principled position of prosecutors, the court granted the request to turn the material evidence into state revenue. A truck and a chainsaw seized during the pre-trial investigation will be handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It was established that in December 2021, a man illegally cut down spruces on the territory of Tukhlyany forestry, then sawed them on logs with a chainsaw and loaded them on a truck. He then took them out of the forest and found them by police.
