A 24-year-old Kharkiv resident planned to travel to the United States with the help of his wife, a person with a disability. According to the “newlyweds”, the man received the “status” of a person accompanying a person with a disability, and the “wife”, a native of Lviv region, was to receive USD 7,000 for her services after crossing the border. During the interview, the “newlyweds” admitted that their marriage was fictitious.
Operational staff of the Lviv Border Guard Detachment sent a report on detection of signs of a criminal offence under Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine”.
