The previous morning, patrol policemen stopped a Daewoo Lanos on Konys’kyi Street for a traffic violation by its driver.
During a conversation with the police, the man was nervous and refused to provide documents or give his details. He started offering the patrol policemen 3 thousand hryvnias.
The inspectors warned him of liability, but the driver increased the amount to UAH 10,000.
An investigative team was called to the scene.
It turned out that the 25-year-old man had twice been prosecuted for drunken driving and had been convicted of failing to comply with a court decision for the said offence.
As a result, the man did not receive a driver’s licence and is not entitled to drive a vehicle.
Patrol policemen issued a report against him for not having documents.
The offender now faces criminal liability for offering an unlawful benefit to a police officer.
