Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor’s Office of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a former deputy director of a communal enterprise in Mostyska has been notified of suspicion. He is accused of land pollution with harmful substances and official negligence (Article 239 Part 1 and Article 367 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Case Details
Investigators found that the suspect, responsible for managing solid waste operations, allowed the illegal disposal of garbage by enterprise employees on plots adjacent to the solid waste landfill. This led to waste accumulation and significant land contamination, with elevated levels of phosphorus, iron, lead, manganese, zinc, and copper.
Environmental Damage
The total damage to the environment exceeds 150,000 UAH.
Investigation
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv Region. Operational support is provided by the Strategic Investigations Department in the Lviv Region.
