
Switzerland Considers Lviv Region as a Promising Area for Investment
This was reported by the head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, following a meeting with a Swiss delegation led by Andrea Rauber Saxer, Delegate of the Federal Council for Trade Agreements and Head of the Bilateral Economic Relations Department of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of Swiss business associations, government bodies, an export insurance agency, and leading companies in the fields of engineering, electrical engineering, and metallurgy.
Key Highlights of the Meeting
- There are 37 enterprises successfully operating in the Lviv region with Swiss investments. They specialize in food industry, IT, commercial consulting, and agricultural equipment leasing.
- The Swiss side expressed interest in deepening cooperation, particularly with small and medium-sized businesses.
- Lviv region proposed new areas of cooperation – creation of logistics and transshipment centers, development of the construction industry, oil industry, gas extraction, alternative energy, vegetable and seed processing, as well as the medical field, including rehabilitation services.
It should be noted separately that Lviv region leads Ukraine in the number of registered industrial parks. There are already 18, each equipped with everything necessary for a quick business start.
“We agreed that, as with everyone ready to invest in our region and create decent jobs, the Department of Economic Policy of the Lviv Regional State Administration will provide Swiss partners with full support – from finding locations according to investors’ requirements to establishing contacts and resolving bureaucratic issues both at the regional and community levels,” emphasized Maksym Kozytskyi.
