In Lviv, following hydraulic tests of the heating networks, 314 buildings have started receiving hot water again. According to Lvivteploenergo, these are residential buildings in the Frankivskyi and Sykhivskyi districts of the city.
According to the utility, yesterday hot water supply was restored to 134 buildings in the Frankivskyi district and 180 buildings in the Sykhivskyi district. In these districts, the heating networks consist of large-diameter trunk pipelines, so the systems are refilled in stages while maintaining the required pressure.
“Yesterday we began restoring hot water supply in the Frankivskyi and Sykhivskyi districts. It should be noted that this is not an instant process that happens quickly. In these districts we have large-diameter trunk pipelines, so we refill the heating network and the in-building system with water in stages, maintaining the appropriate pressure. Thus, over the course of yesterday we restored hot water supply to 134 buildings in the Frankivskyi district and 180 buildings in the Sykhivskyi district. Work to restore hot water supply to buildings in these districts is ongoing,” Lvivteploenergo said.
The annual hydraulic testing of heating networks in Lviv started this year on 11 May. The first to be checked were the networks in the Sykhivskyi, Frankivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, partly Lychakivskyi and partly Halytskyi districts — the trunk lines from the largest heat supply sources, CHP-1 and the North Heating Station.
Testing, rectification of identified defects and full restoration of hot water in these districts was initially planned from 17 June. However, some of the work was completed more quickly, and hot water supply was restored to a significant number of buildings already in May and early June.
In particular, from 18 May hot water was restored to 108 buildings in the Lychakivskyi district, from 21 May to 49 buildings in the Shevchenkivskyi district, from 22 May to 9 buildings in the Sykhivskyi district, and on 30 May to 54 buildings in the Frankivskyi district. From 4 June, hot water was supplied to 10 buildings on Volodymyra Velykoho Street (Nos. 61, 63, 65, 67, 69, 71, 73, 75, 79, 81), and from 5 June to 204 buildings in the Shevchenkivskyi district.
Yesterday, 15 June, Lvivteploenergo launched the next stage of restoring hot water for residents of the Sykhivskyi and Frankivskyi districts, within which a further 314 buildings were connected.
At the same time, from 16 June checks of the technical condition of the heating networks began in the Zaliznychnyi district of Lviv and the Riasne microdistrict. Here hydraulic testing and the elimination of identified faults will last for two weeks, so until 30 June residents of these areas will remain without hot water.
