In the Sykhiv and Frankivsk districts of Lviv, the phased restoration of hot water supply continues following the annual hydraulic testing of the heating networks. According to LME “Lvivteploenergo”, as of Tuesday 404 buildings in these districts are already receiving hot water.
The utility reported that yesterday a further 86 buildings in Sykhiv and 4 buildings in the Frankivsk district were reconnected to the network. Together with the 314 buildings whose hot water supply was restored on Monday, this is the number of consumers in the two districts that have already completed the full cycle of hydraulic tests.
“On Monday we restored hot water supply to 314 buildings in the Frankivsk and Sykhiv districts, and yesterday to 90 more. Work on restoration is ongoing. It should be noted that this is not an instantaneous process that happens quickly. It is necessary, step by step and maintaining the correct pressure, to fill the heating network and the in-building system. At the same time we monitor whether any damage occurs, and if it does, we eliminate it,” LME “Lvivteploenergo” explains.
This year, the annual hydraulic tests of the heating networks in Lviv began on 11 May. Initially, the main networks from the largest heat supply sources — CHP-1 and the “Pivnichna” heating centre — were checked. The works covered the Sykhiv, Frankivsk and Shevchenkiv districts, as well as parts of the Lychakiv and Halych districts.
Originally, it was planned to complete the tests, repair the identified defects and restore hot water in these districts from 17 June. However, some of the work was completed ahead of schedule, so residents started to have hot water returned as early as May. In particular, from 18 May hot water supply was restored for 108 buildings in the Lychakiv district, from 21 May for 49 buildings in the Shevchenkiv district, from 22 May for 9 buildings in Sykhiv, and on 30 May for 54 buildings in the Frankivsk district.
From 4 June, hot water was supplied to 10 buildings on Volodymyra Velykoho Street (Nos. 61, 63, 65, 67, 69, 71, 73, 75, 79, 81), and from 5 June to a further 204 buildings in the Shevchenkiv district. On 15 June, “Lvivteploenergo” began large-scale restoration of hot water supply for residents of the Sykhiv and Frankivsk districts.
At the same time, from 16 June, testing of the strength and reliability of the heating network pipelines began in the Zaliznychnyi district of Lviv and the Riasne microdistrict. Hydraulic tests and the repair of identified damage there will last for about two weeks, so until 30 June residents of these areas will remain without hot water.
