The structural division of the Lviv OVA told how many documents were digitized and made publicly available in the first month of summer.
During June, the State Archive of the Lviv region took an important step in preserving the historical heritage and providing access to archival documents. A significant number of materials were published on the official electronic resource, including 130 cases of the Investigative Department of the NKVD in the Lviv region for the period from 1939 to 1950, containing criminal cases. Also, 19 books (cases) of the Department of State Registration of Civil Status Acts of the State Registration Office of the Main Territorial Administration of Justice for 1940-1941, which contain records of births, marriages and deaths of people, were made public.
“We note that 84 cases from fund 266: “Union of Defenders of the City of Lviv” were published, belonging to the pre-Soviet period (1918-1939) in Ukraine. These cases contain historical documents and materials related to the defense of the city of Lviv and the activities of the Union defenders in this period. They may contain information about combat operations, organizational work, the role of participants and other aspects related to the defense of the city. These cases are an important source for studying the history of Lviv.
Also, an important contribution to the DALO e-resource was the publication of 6 descriptions: F-26 op. 5 (Ian Kazymir University in Lviv / Description 5/Personal and pension affairs of professors and teaching staff and employees of the University) – and F-3 op. 59 (Magistrate of the city of Lviv / Description 59/Personal and pension affairs); R-3229: Office for the evacuation of the Ukrainian, Polish, Czech and Slovak population under the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR / Description 1-2-3 and F.15 op 8 (Peremyshlyansky district court, city of Peremyshlany, Ternopil Voivodeship / Description 8)”, – informed in the regional archive.
We would like to add that the State Archive of the Lviv region continues its work on scanning and publishing other materials from archival funds.
