Hydrological Situation on the Rivers of Lviv Region: Data as of March 2

As of 08:00 on March 2, 2026, the hydrological situation on the rivers of Lviv Region, according to the hydrometeorological network data, is characterized by slight precipitation, amounting to up to 2 mm per day. On most rivers of the Dniester basin, water levels declined by 1–8 cm, while some tributaries observed increases of up to 4 cm per day.

On the lowland rivers of the Western Bug basin and in the upper reaches of the Styr River, water levels continued to rise by 5–12 cm, while some tributaries experienced level decreases of 5–16 cm, in some places up to 30 cm per day, particularly on the Vyshnya River near the village of Tvirzha. Near the Rata River, close to the village of Mezhyrichchya, initial flooding onto the floodplain was recorded.

In the areas of the Styr River in the city of Shchurovychi and the Poltva River in the city of Busk, water remained on the floodplain with a layer of 11–38 cm. Most rivers in the Lviv region have cleared of ice, although unstable ice cover with shore ice still exists in some places, such as near the Solokiya River in the city of Sheptytsky.

The following day, on some rivers of the Western Bug basin, further increases in water levels are expected. A warning for dangerous hydrological phenomenon NGY-I No. 3 dated 26.02.2026, is in effect. Possible flooding onto the floodplain and inundation is expected, especially in the areas of the Poltva River in the city of Busk, the Solokiya River in the city of Sheptytsky, and the Styr River in the city of Shchurovychi, while water levels are expected to decrease on other rivers in the region.
