On the Rivers of Lviv Region, Water Levels are Forecasted to Decrease

As of 08:00 on March 7, 2026, a review of the hydrological situation on the rivers of the Lviv region was conducted. Days earlier, a decrease in water levels on the rivers of the region by 1–7 cm was observed, although the decline in levels on the mountain tributaries of the Dniester temporarily ceased. After the end of snowmelt in the mountains, a slight increase in water level up to 3 cm per day was noted on some tributaries of the Stryi. On the morning of March 6, the Western Bug River near Kamianka-Buzka reached its maximum water level. On the Poltva River in the Busk area, water overflowed its banks. In the areas of the Western Bug – Kamianka-Buzka, Poltva – Busk, Solokiya – Sheptytskyi, and Styr – Shchurovychi, water remained above the floodplain by 50, 11, and 12 cm, respectively.

Consultation on changes in the hydrological situation in the region Over the next two days, a further decrease in water levels is forecasted on the rivers of the Lviv region. However, on some rivers in the Western Bug basin and in the upper reaches of the Styr, water will continue to remain on the floodplains.
