Has departed for eternity, active public figure and former leader of the Society of Political Prisoners and Repressed Persons, Oksana Bilozir.
Oksana Bilozir was born in 1936 in the village of Dykiv (at that time – territory of Poland). In 1946, the Soviet authorities arrested her father, and soon the entire family was exiled to Siberia in the Tomsk region. There, Oksana attended school, worked on log driving, and timber harvesting.
When Oksana Bilozir turned 18, the family reunited – her father was released, and the family was relocated to Karaganda. In 1959, Mrs. Oksana’s family received permission to return to Radekhiv. From then on, Oksana Bilozir lived again on her native land, and with Ukraine’s independence in the 1990s, she actively engaged in public activities and led the Union of Political Prisoners and Repressed Persons.
We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends regarding this irreparable loss. Eternal memory…
