The President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, visited the Clinical Center for Pediatric Medicine in the Lviv region, where children’s lives from all over Ukraine are being saved.
This center is the only supercluster children’s hospital in the Lviv region, specializing in pediatric oncology, bone marrow transplantation, neurosurgery, and orphan diseases. Over 20,000 children receive inpatient care here every year. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the center has evacuated nearly 1,800 severely ill children abroad under the SAFER Ukraine project, including 49 children receiving treatment in the Czech Republic.
Petr Pavel familiarized himself with the work of the modernized bacteriological laboratory, updated thanks to the Olena Zelenska Foundation and Lord Ashcroft’s contribution of $200,000. Modern equipment and preparation for work according to ISO standards allow for maximum professional care for children with cancer.
The President also spoke with students of the School of Superheroes, which operates at the center under the patronage of Olena Zelenska. Here, children undergoing long-term treatment can experience the joy of school life. Over 2,200 children have studied or continue to study at the school.
The Clinical Center for Pediatric Medicine in the Lviv region is an example of how the professionalism of medics, international solidarity, and state responsibility work for the sake of children’s lives and health. “Thank you for the professionalism and human face of modern Ukrainian pediatric medicine Bohdan Malovanyy and the entire team of the Center. Thank you to our Czech friends led by Mr. President for cooperation in this direction.”
