The Lviv Regional Center for Hydrometeorology warns that a high (class 4) fire hazard is expected in the city of Lviv during August 16-18.
We urge citizens to observe fire safety rules and not to burn dry vegetation.
The City Department for Emergency Situations, Civil Protection and Territorial Defense reminds us that the spontaneous burning of dry grass, fallen leaves and other plant residues, which is prohibited in Ukraine, is punishable by a fine ranging from UAH 3,060 to UAH 6,120, and for officials – from 15,300 to 21,420 UAH. For the same actions committed on the territory of nature reserves, palias face a fine in the amount of UAH 6,120 to UAH 12,240. And in wartime, such actions are equated with sabotage, which entails criminal liability (imprisonment for a term of 10 to 15 years).
