In Lviv, the memory of Vasyl Bilas and Dmytro Danylyshyn, figures of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists executed in 1932, was honored.
Every year on December 23 at 06:25 at 20 Horodotska Street, a joint prayer takes place at the commemorative plaque. Attendees pray, light candles, and sing the OUN anthem.
The commemorative events continue at the Yaniv Cemetery, where Bilas and Danylyshyn are buried. A requiem service is performed, flowers are laid, candles are lit, and the National Anthem of Ukraine is sung.
Andriy Libych, a veteran of the Russo-Ukrainian war, emphasized that Bilas and Danylyshyn consciously risked their lives for Ukraine’s freedom. He urged support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The events were attended by representatives of the youth spiritual and patriotic community “Apostolic Company,” military personnel, veterans, deputies, and the city’s public.
