Three vocational education institutions in Lviv now feature state-of-the-art training hubs focusing on car diagnostics, stained glass art, and digital printing. Funded by state and local budgets and school resources, the total investment exceeds UAH 17 million.
Modern Automotive Hub
The first center opened at the Interregional Higher Vocational School of Automotive Transport and Construction, where 200 students study automotive specialties. The hub is equipped for full-scale computer diagnostics and car repair.
Budget for the automotive hub:
- UAH 4.2 million – state subsidy;
- UAH 1.1 million – city funds;
- UAH 1.3 million – school resources.
“This project, completed in a year, provides students with the best equipment available, preparing them to become skilled professionals,” noted school director Nazar Zakal.
The hub will also offer paid services to car owners, generating funds for further development.
Unique Stained Glass Art Center
The stained glass hub, the first of its kind in Ukraine, was established at the Lviv Vocational College of Applied Arts and Design. Students will learn stained glass techniques and the restoration of historical monuments.
Budget for the stained glass center:
- UAH 1.8 million – state subsidy;
- UAH 700,000 – local funds;
- UAH 350,000 – regional funds;
- UAH 1.2 million – school resources.
“This specialty is highly relevant in Lviv, a historical city. Graduates will create not only small items but also large stained glass works for churches and buildings,” said college director Nadiya Obniavka.
Digital Printing Center
The third hub, a digital printing center, opened at the Lviv Vocational College of Printing and Services.
Budget for the project:
- UAH 5 million – state funds;
- UAH 500,000 – city funds;
- UAH 1 million – school resources.
The center’s equipment enables printing on paper, ceramics, textiles, wallpaper, and more. “This is a significant step for book publishing in Ukraine, as the facility allows full-cycle production,” said Bohdan Ivanus, head of Lviv’s vocational education department.
International Support
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) provided an additional UAH 1.45 million for equipment purchases.
Since 2016, Lviv City Council has funded all 17 vocational schools in the city, with five new centers opened last year.
