Lviv Oblast became the first of five regions where driving schools for people with disabilities were opened

This was announced by the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.

In driving schools for people with disabilities, you can learn to drive vehicles of category B and manual driving, studying in inclusive groups, individually, remotely, according to a convenient schedule. The project of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “Driving schools for persons with disabilities” became part of the initiative of the First Lady “Without barriers”.

“It is the effective barrier-freeness that our country undertook to implement even before the Russian invasion: equal opportunities, comfort and convenience for all Ukrainians in all spheres. Currently, the first 22 students are taking theoretical and practical courses in adapted driving schools, one has already received a driver’s license. It is difficult to overestimate this project now, when due to the Russian attacks, the number of people with disabilities in our country is rapidly increasing every day – young, active, full of plans. But all these people will certainly realize their plans and realize themselves in Ukraine, confidently driving not only the car, but also their own future,” Olena Zelenska emphasized.

One of these driving schools will operate on the basis of the Lviv State University of Internal Affairs in the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs 4649 at the address: Zimna Voda village, st. Horodotska, 16.

“The service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs did everything possible to ensure that everyone had access to public services — they converted cars for taking practical exams for people with disabilities, and adapted classrooms for theoretical exams as much as possible. There is also a ramp and an administrator call button near each of our establishments so that people with reduced mobility can easily visit us,” the press service of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
