Major repairs are underway near the cancer hospital: the road and sidewalk will be repaired and traffic will be arranged
Major repairs of the road and sidewalks are underway to meet all accessibility requirements on Maksymovycha Street – Gashek Street, 2-A, in front of the regional cancer centre.
According to the Sykhiv District Administration, the work will be carried out in stages, so the work at the location is expected to be completed next year. For the duration of the works, the final stop of city bus No. 57 was temporarily moved to the nearest public transport stop on Stryiska (“Maksymovycha”) Street.
“The road infrastructure near the cancer hospital hasn’t been repaired for a long time, the road and sidewalks were in poor condition. And the chaotic traffic of private vehicles often made it difficult for city buses to pass through, which creates inconvenience for passengers. Many people also walk to the cancer centre.
So, on 30 October, we started repair work here. In general, the road and sidewalk will be repaired and traffic will be streamlined. To make the traffic at this location safe and comfortable for everyone and ensure maximum accessibility to the medical facility, it is necessary to repair and improve about 0.30 hectares of the territory.
The works will be carried out in stages, and we plan to complete them next year,” said the Sykhiv District Administration.
