In total, there are 46 family-type children’s homes in the Lviv region.
A family-type orphanage has been established in the Radekhiv territorial community of Chervonohrad district. Four orphans will be brought up here, and the children are related to each other. The girls are 15, 7 and 4 years old and their 14-year-old brother.
In addition, two children deprived of parental care, who are related to each other, were placed in a functioning orphanage in the Novoyavorivska territorial community of Yavoriv district.
“One of the priorities of our work is to give children the opportunity to live and grow up in a comfortable environment, to ensure the right to be brought up in a family for children from large family groups,” said Volodymyr Lys, head of the Children’s Service of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
As a reminder, a family-type children’s home is a separate family created at the request of a couple or an unmarried individual, in which at least 5 orphans and children deprived of parental care are placed for upbringing and cohabitation. The total number of children in a family-type children’s home should not exceed 10, including relatives.
In total, there are 46 family-type children’s homes and 77 foster families in Lviv region, where 450 orphans, children deprived of parental care and persons from among them are brought up.
