The UNBROKEN Charitable Foundation and Suspilne have announced a fundraiser for the needs of St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital in Lviv, which is part of the UNBROKEN ecosystem. The collection will be held during the broadcasts of the Olympic Games and sports programs on Suspilne’s platforms.
Goal: UAH 1.6 million for a modern modular system of combined osteosynthesis. The Charitable Foundation notes that the equipment available at St. Nicholas Hospital is outdated and unable to handle heavy loads. A modern modular system is needed for reconstructive bone surgery and corrective amputations for prosthetics. Almost every surgical intervention in pediatric traumatology requires the use of such equipment.
“It is important that this equipment will allow doctors to simultaneously perform several operations of different types. So by supporting your favorite athletes at the Olympic Games, you too can become a part of the healthy future of the Unbreakable. We invite everyone: turn on the Olympics and support the collection. Become a part of the future of our little patients,” said Oleksandr Kobzarev, Head of the UNBROKEN | UNBREAKABLE Charitable Foundation.
The initiative was also supported by Ukrainian athletes. Olha Harlan, Zhan Beleniuk, Oleh Verniaiev, Heorhii Zantaraya, and Hanna Rizatdinova recorded a video message and invite their countrymen to join the collection.
“We have united around a great goal – to help children affected by the war. Our goal is to raise UAH 1.6 million for a special device that will help save children’s legs and arms. Let’s give children their lost childhood back,” the champions say in their video message.
To join the collection, you need to scan the QR code during the broadcasts of the Olympic Games and sports programs on the Suspilne platforms, or use the link to the bank of the UNBROKEN | UNBREAKABLE Charitable Foundation.
“Children who have suffered from the war should receive the best treatment possible, and we can all help. I am grateful to each and everyone who will join the collection. Let’s cheer for our athletes at the Olympics and help the youngest patients with UNBROKEN together,” said Mykola Chernotytskyi, Chairman of the Board of Public Broadcasting.
The opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics took place in Paris yesterday, July 26. The competition will last until August 11.
For reference.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, more than 18 thousand wounded Ukrainians (including 2 thousand children) have been treated in the UNBROKEN ecosystem. Tens of thousands have received temporary shelter, about 400 people have received prosthetics, and thousands have undergone quality rehabilitation. UNBROKEN strives to build a strong ecosystem of assistance to those affected by the war and share this experience with other cities and countries.
