Today, November 16, Lviv says goodbye to three Heroes. Volodymyr Dovhun, Oleksiy Degtyarev, Yuriy Khmilyar died defending Ukraine.

At 11:00 a.m., the funeral ceremony of Volodymyr Dovgun began, at 11:30 a.m. – a city farewell ceremony for the Hero on Rynok Square.

At 2:00 p.m. – the funeral ceremony of Oleksiy Degtyarev and Yury Khmilyar, at 2:30 p.m. – a city farewell ceremony for the Heroes.

Route of the funeral procession: Garrison Church of St. App. Peter and Paul UGCC (Tetralna Street, 11) – sq. Cathedral – square Rynok (city farewell ceremony) – str. Ruska – st. Basement – st. Volodymyr Vinnichenko – square Soborna – st. Pekarska – st. Shimzeriv – st. Mechnikova – Lychakiv cemetery.

Military servicemen will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical references of Heroes

Yuriy Khmilyar (June 25, 1993-November 12, 2022). A native of Lviv.
He studied at the Lviv Ukrainian private gymnasium-lyceum, later entered the Municipal Institution of the Lviv Regional Council “Lviv Lyceum with enhanced military and physical training named after Heroes of Krut”.

He graduated from the National Academy of Ground Forces named after Hetman Peter Sagaidachny and the Military Academy (Odesa).

After completing his studies, he served in the ranks of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Performed combat tasks in the area of ​​the Anti-Terrorist Operation.

After returning to civilian life, he worked at the private enterprise “Carabiners”.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, he fought against the terrorist state in the ranks of the 103rd separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Yuriy Khmilyar is survived by his wife and two sons.

Oleksiy Degtyarev (12.02.1987-29.10.2022). A native of Lviv.
He studied at the Support Institution of general secondary education of the I-III degrees of Khyriv city of Khyriv city council, Sambir district, Lviv region. During his studies, he attended the football sports section, engaged in freestyle wrestling.

He graduated from the State Educational Institution “Lviv Higher Vocational College of Trade and Services”. Subsequently, he obtained the qualification of “technician-mechanic” in the Separate Structural Unit “Automotive and Road Professional College of the National University “Lviv Polytechnic”.

In peacetime, he worked as a driver of international transport.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he took an active part in the physical and tactical training of territorial defense fighters.

Later, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces, defended the Motherland as part of the 90th separate airmobile battalion named after the Hero of Ukraine, senior lieutenant Ivan Zubkov, of the 81st separate airmobile brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Oleksiy Degtyarev is survived by his parents, wife and two children.

 

Volodymyr Dovgun (18.08.1971-12.11.2022). A native of the village of Putyatichi, Lviv region.
Studied at Lyceum No. 18 of the Lviv City Council. After completing his studies, he obtained a professional and technical education. During 1989-1991, he served in the tank troops.

In peacetime, he worked as a blacksmith at a private enterprise.

In 2021, he voluntarily signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, performed combat missions in the east of Ukraine.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he defended the territorial integrity and independence of the state in the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danilo of the “West” operational command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Fought against Russian occupiers in Luhansk region.

Volodymyr Dovgun is survived by his wife, two daughters, a granddaughter and a son-in-law.
