Sokal Community Mourns Senior Lieutenant Ihor Tsybulia from Komariv

There are no words that can ease the pain of parents who have lost their son. There is no comfort for a grandmother who will no longer be able to embrace her grandson. Deep sorrow fills the heart of a fiancée as her beloved returns home on his shield.

The Sokal community and all of Ukraine have suffered a heavy loss. Defender of Ukraine, resident of the village of Komariv, Senior Lieutenant Ihor Romanovych Tsybulia, has died.

Ihor was born on January 3, 1995, in the village of Komariv. He received his primary education in his native village. Later, he studied at the O. Romaniv Sokal Gymnasium. After graduating, he entered Lutsk National Technical University, where he obtained a higher education.

After completing his studies, Ihor was called up for compulsory military service in the airborne troops.

Service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ihor Tsybulia joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since June 2022, he had served in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo.

He directly carried out combat missions on some of the most difficult front-line directions, including:

  • Luhansk region;
  • Donetsk region;
  • Zaporizhzhia region;
  • Kherson region;
  • Bakhmut;
  • Toretsk;
  • Chasiv Yar.

Ihor Tsybulia bravely defended Ukraine, remaining faithful to his military oath, his comrades-in-arms, and his homeland.

Awards of Ihor Tsybulia

For his courage, patriotism, and devotion to Ukraine, Ihor received honorary awards:

  • the “Chervona Kalyna” badge of the All-Ukrainian Association “We Are Ukrainians”;
  • the honorary “Golden Cross” badge from Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi;
  • the medal “For the Defence of the City of Bakhmut” from the command of the Soledar operational-tactical group.

Even during the darkest moments of the war, Ihor never complained. He always told his family: “I am fine.” In this way, the Defender tried to protect his loved ones from worry.

From the first days of the war, his family also became involved in supporting Ukrainian soldiers. Ihor’s parents organized the volunteer community Hospodynky, which united the community around helping Ukraine’s defenders. Their son defended Ukraine at the front, while his loved ones supported the army from the rear.

The Sokal community expresses sincere condolences to his parents, Nataliia and Roman, his brother Stepan, his grandmother Kateryna, his fiancée Nataliia, his aunt Iryna, the entire extended family, comrades-in-arms, classmates, friends, and fellow villagers of the Hero.

Glory to Ukraine! Glory to our Heroes!
