A tragic loss has struck the Sheptytska community — on April 14, 2025, Sergeant Vasyl Hryhorovych Kuts passed away in the Kharkiv City Emergency Hospital due to injuries sustained in combat.
He was 49 years old. Vasyl served as a border service inspector in military unit 9938.
Sergeant Kuts carried out his duties with honor and courage until the very end. His sacrifice is a solemn reminder of the immense cost Ukraine pays daily for its freedom and independence.
The Sheptytska City Council expressed heartfelt condolences to the Hero’s family and loved ones. A day of mourning has been declared in the community, and residents bow their heads in sorrow for the Defender to whom the nation owes an eternal debt.
“It is our sacred duty to remember those who gave their lives for Ukraine’s future. Eternal glory and bright memory to the Hero,” the council’s statement reads.
