On Tuesday, 4 June, Lviv will say goodbye to soldier Maksym Pravda, who defended Ukraine from Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and visitors to pay tribute to the defender.
The farewell and funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Yuriy Lypa Lviv Hospital for War Veterans and the Repressed (31 Ivasyuka Street, Vynnyky). Later, at 13:00, Maksym Pravda will be buried at the Bryukhovychi cemetery.
Biographical note of the defence counsel
Maksym Pravda (25.01.1977-30.05.2024). He was born abroad to a military family.
In 1992, Maksym Pravda’s family moved from Germany to Lviv. Here he studied at the Lviv Secondary School No. 43 of the Lviv City Council of the Lviv Region. He graduated from the former University of Banking (then the Institute). In 1996-1998, he served in the military units 46145 and A2557.
He worked for over 10 years at the former Lvivshlyakhrembud Private Joint Stock Company. Most recently, he was engaged in private entrepreneurship in the field of road construction. In his spare time, he was fond of football. According to his family, he was an extremely kind, generous, cheerful and intelligent man.
From the first months of the full-scale invasion, he voluntarily stood up to defend the state against the occupiers. He defended the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state in Sumy, Luhansk and Donetsk regions in the ranks of the 117th separate mechanised brigade, and later – the 103rd separate territorial defence brigade of the territorial defence forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Maksym Pravda is survived by his wife, 16-year-old son and three brothers with their families.
