Tomorrow Lviv will say goodbye to soldiers Volodymyr Sheredko, Yevhen Lilison and Andriy Horbkov

 

On Friday, 28 June, Lviv will say goodbye to three soldiers. Volodymyr Sheredko, Yevhen Lilison, and Andriy Horbkovyi were killed by Russian occupiers while defending Ukraine. Lviv City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

In the morning, at 09:00, a prayer and farewell service will be held in the Church of the Ascension of the Lord of the UGCC (81 Shyroka St.).

Also in the morning, at 09:00, a prayer and farewell service will be held at the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Sykhiv (St John Paul II Square).

The funeral service for the defenders Yevhen Lilison, Volodymyr Sheredko and Andriy Horbkovyi will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul, and at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square.

The defenders will be buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery.

He studied at Secondary School No. 65 in Lviv, then entered Secondary School No. 64 of I-III grades in Lviv (today – Lyceum “Hrono” of Lviv City Council).

In 2008, he graduated from the Interregional Centre for Vocational Education of Art Modelling and Design in Lviv. He received his higher education at Khmelnytsky National University.

After graduation, he worked as a cutter at West Fashion Private Enterprise. In 2015-2016, he worked at Bader Ukraine Limited Liability Company, and later at Galician Construction Guild LLC. In his spare time, he was fond of fishing, gardening, watching films and relaxing in nature. According to his family, “he loved life and lived for others, dreaming of building his own home in the future”.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he defended the state from the Russian invaders. He performed combat missions in Donetsk, Kharkiv and Luhansk regions in the ranks of the 25th separate airborne brigade of the Sicheslav Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For personal courage, he was awarded the Honorary Badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “Golden Cross”.

Volodymyr Sheredko is survived by his parents, wife and 4-year-old son.

He studied at the Novooleksiyivka Lyceum No. 1 of the Henichesk City Council. After graduation, he worked in the field of property protection services in Novooleksiivka. He was fond of cars.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he was forced to leave his native village because of his partisan activities against the enemy. At first, he lived in Dnipro, and later moved to Lviv.

He completed his military training here, after which he went to Bolhrad, Odesa Oblast, where he joined the 88th Separate Marine Battalion of the 35th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi of the Ukrainian Navy. He defended the state in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions and was awarded the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine’s departmental medal “For Wounding”.

Yevhen Lilison is survived by his wife.

He studied at Vidnykivska gymnasium. First, he studied at the Specialised College of Infocommunications of Lviv Polytechnic National University, then entered the Ukrainian Academy of Printing.

After graduation, he served in the paratroopers.

He was engaged in entrepreneurial activity in the field of trade in Lviv. He devoted all his free time to his family. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he worked as a recruitment instructor in the 3rd department of the Lviv District Territorial Centre for Recruitment and Social Support.

From April 2024, he performed combat missions in the Kharkiv region in the ranks of the 42nd separate mechanised brigade of the operational command “West” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Andrii Horbkovyi is survived by his father, wife, three children and sister.
