Tomorrow Lviv will say goodbye to two defenders

Tomorrow, on 2 September, Lviv will say goodbye to two soldiers. Vladyslav Zulkarnieiev and Viktor Strelnikov defended Ukraine from Russian invaders.

Lviv City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service for the defenders Vladyslav Zulkarnieiev and Viktor Strelnikov will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square.

The defenders of Ukraine will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.

Viktor Strelnikov (14.05.1983 – 26.08.2024) A native of the city of Krasnoyarsk.

Viktor Strelnikov (14.05.1983 – 26.08.2024) was born in Krasnoyarsk.

He studied at the Municipal Institution “Mariupol Secondary School of I-III Degrees No. 64 of the Mariupol City Council of the Donetsk Region”. He received his professional education at the Mariupol Construction College.

He worked at Azovstal Iron and Steel Works, a private joint-stock company. In his spare time, he was involved in boxing, rugby and Greco-Roman wrestling.

During the full-scale Russian invasion, he defended Ukraine as a member of the 1st Border Guard Detachment of the Eastern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He performed combat missions in the Kharkiv and Donetsk directions.

Viktor Strelnikov is survived by his wife, two daughters, mother and brother.

He studied at the Orphanage for Children of the Lviv Regional State Administration. Later, he continued his education at the Prosvita Lyceum of the Lviv City Council and the St John Bosco Youth Training Centre.

During the full-scale Russian invasion, he defended his homeland in the ranks of the 28th separate mechanised brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign of the operational command “South” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He performed combat missions in the Donetsk region.

Vladyslav Zulkarnieiev is survived by his civilian wife, uncle, foster brothers and sisters.
