Tomorrow Lviv community will say goodbye to soldiers Mykola Zhuravchak and Bohdan Kot

 

On Tuesday, 2 July, the Lviv community will say goodbye to two soldiers. Mykola Zhuravchak and Bohdan Kit defended Ukraine from the Russian occupiers. The mayor’s office calls on everyone to join the farewell ceremonies and refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service for defender Mykola Zhuravchak will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. The soldier will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.

Prayer and farewell to Bohdan Kot will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the family home in the village of Zarudtsi (53 I. Franko Street), and the funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Zarudtsi. The defender will be buried in the village of Zarudtsi.

He studied at the Stebnytsia Lyceum No. 7 of the Drohobych City Council in Lviv Oblast. He first studied at the History Faculty of Ivan Franko Drohobych State Pedagogical University, then entered the Faculty of Economics of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. He graduated from the Military Training Department of the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy.

According to his family, Mykola Zhuravchak “was brought up in a strong patriotic spirit and was extremely ‘ideological’. He had a deep knowledge of history and political science, was engaged in the restoration of visual materials, was the founder and active member of literary and historical clubs, in particular, Resistance. The Rebellion is Right”. He was a member of the Alter youth theatre.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he volunteered to join the Right Sector and later defended the country in the ranks of the 67th Separate Mechanised Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From the first days of the war, he was “on zero” and did not miss a single combat mission.

Mykola Zhuravchak is survived by his parents and sister.

He studied at the Zarudtsiv Gymnasium of the Lviv City Council. After graduation, he served in the Air Force in Vinnytsia.

For a long time, he worked as a locksmith in Lviv. Later, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and in 2015, he performed tasks in the anti-terrorist operation zone as part of the Armed Forces’ rear.

After returning to civilian life, he worked in the field of property protection services.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he stood up to defend the state from the Russian occupiers. He defended the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state in Donetsk region in the ranks of the 67th separate mechanised brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Bohdan Kot is survived by his mother and sister.
