Exhibition of Church Miniatures at the Drohobych Art Palace

A unique exhibition by the master Oleh Syrotiuk, “Legacy. History in Wood,” started at the Art Palace on October 26. The exhibition will run for a month.

During this period, visitors can see dozens of miniatures of sacred structures – from the most famous Ukrainian churches to lesser-known architectural gems that preserve the spirit of past centuries.

“Each piece is detailed like a jewel and a living history, carved from wood by the hands of a talented artist,” say the exhibition organizers.

Oleh Syrotiuk is a member of the Union of Folk Artists and Amateur Artists of the National Union of Folk Art Masters of Ukraine. He is a native of Ternopil region, residing in the village of Zavadiv in the Lviv region.

The artist has been involved in modeling for about 10 years. Interest in history and the structure of sacred architecture prompted Oleh Syrotiuk to create miniature churches in wood.

The first work of the master was the Church of St. George in Drohobych. This piece marked the beginning of his further work as a creator of wooden church miniatures. The model of the Drohobych church consists of almost 10,000 various details!

The artist’s creative portfolio includes models of churches from different regions of Ukraine – Lviv, Ternopil, Chernihiv, and Zakarpattia regions.

The exhibition will run until November 26 at the Art Palace (Taras Shevchenko Street, 38).
