The police in the city of Arkadelphia (Arkansas, USA) have published a report on incidents that took place between 20 and 26 July 2026. Among the recorded cases was the theft of tips and a mobile phone belonging to a waitress at the local 67 Grill.
The incident occurred on the evening of Tuesday, 21 July. A woman entered the restaurant on Main Street, introduced herself as homeless and asked a member of staff for a glass of water. While the waitress went to fulfil the request, the customer took her server book containing cash from tips and her mobile phone, and quickly left the premises.
On discovering the loss of her belongings, the waitress temporarily left her workstation and drove off to look for the suspected thief. She spotted the woman together with a man on Crittenden Street, near the county jail. During a face-to-face conversation, the suspect did not return her property, after which the employee contacted the police, providing a detailed description of the woman and indicating that they had previously worked together at a Sonic outlet.
Officers conducted enquiries in the area, but the woman being sought was not located at that time. The next day, the woman was seen again between Walmart and McDonald’s. While speaking with law enforcement officers, 26-year-old Khadeidra Monae Gilbert admitted that she had taken someone else’s phone at 67 Grill, but claimed that a male acquaintance later handed the device in to a mobile phone buyback terminal located in the foyer of the Walmart store.
Gilbert was detained on suspicion of theft of property. She was also issued with a lifetime ban from entering any Walmart locations. Store security staff identified the possible male accomplice, but at the time the report was drawn up he had not yet been detained.
The same bulletin from Arkadelphia police and the Clark County sheriff’s office also lists other incidents from this period: a suspected terrorist threat offence, an investigation into a possible download of prohibited content (which turned out to be a false alarm), several cases of domestic disputes, vandalism, as well as isolated instances of suspected thefts of vehicles and number plates.
