Today, the Lviv Farmers’ Market has reopened on Rynok Square. Every Saturday during the summer, two dozen farmers will sell their products in the city center so that Lviv residents and visitors can buy goods directly from the producers.
The farmers’ market will be open every Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00.
90% of the producers at the fair are family business owners who have the opportunity to sell and promote their own craft goods. During the season, the fair attracts about 90 thousand visitors.
“Our mission is to popularize local products among Lviv residents and visitors, and at the same time develop a culture of healthy eating. The fair gathers its community of farmers and regular customers who come to buy fresh produce and just to socialize,” says Tetiana Khabibrakhmanova, Head of External Relations and Promotion at Lviv City Council.
By the way, this is the fifth Farmers’ Market in Lviv: in 2019, the long-standing tradition of holding a farmers’ market was renewed on Rynok Square. Back in the 1930s, the oldest and most popular market was the one around the City Hall.
